Lyons Wier Gallery is pleased to feature a special installation in the back gallery space by New York artist
Greg Haberny entitled Mommy’s Little Monster. The presentation is a prelude to his forthcoming solo exhibition at Lyons Wier Gallery this October.
Mommy’s Little Monster is a psychedelic glimpse into the wonderfully psychotic world of installation artist Greg Haberny. This particular installation draws direct inspiration from the artist’s personal recollections of his childhood. The artist exhumes and examines his “‘dysfunctional’” childhood, embracing the plethora of influences from his teen years growing up in suburbia during the 1970-80s.
Haberny brutishly expresses his observations by constructing three dimensional metaphors dealing with his own personal issues, including but not limited to: chaos, disorder, anxiety, imperfection, awkwardness, madness, punk rock, guns, attending Catholic school, porn, drinking, drugs, excessive therapy, his cat that his brother shot, dyslexia, isolation, baseball, rabbits, hallucinations, abuse, sinner vs saint, Martin Scorsese, independent cult film, toys, AND girls, girls…GIRLS!
